REACH July Retreat Debrief + zoom link for
“Good evening everyone,
Wow, what a weekend - hard to believe it was only a week ago!
Thank you all for showing up for such a rich, connective, and meaningful time together, and for the energy, patience, and passion that each of you brought to the table. This summit would not have been as rich nor as varied without all your voices and perspectives. Witnessing us all grapple together over the harder questions, discover our many shared values, and seek creative ways to work together was such an inspiration.
We encourage everyone to keep these channels of communication open so that we can most successfully work together to create a varied tapestry of conditions for safe and responsible access to natural psychedelics. Let's all do our best to remember our time together and speak in that chat with the same respect and goodwill we shared in person, and to especially stay in proactive touch about the upcoming 2026 legislative session.
The weekend truly felt like a psychedelic experience, with us all practicing leaning into trust, exploring novel possibilities, and forging new and deepened relationships. And, now we get to dive into the continued integrative work of tending these connections, sorting through the possibilities and nurturing some into lived actuality, and continuing to build trust and work together.
Over the next few weeks, the REACH team will be taking time to consolidate and summarize the many topics and ideas that we generated together, and will follow up with each of you as we stabilize our plans and continue refining the information we collected. We also recognize that we are in the frenzied height of PNW summer, and that some of these threads will be picked up more thoroughly come fall.
As we move forward, a few of our initial goals in synthesizing content from the retreat are to:
Establish an effective system of communication that reaches beyond REACHWA (pun intended!) into psychedelic societies and other communities so that we can share information and mobilize action with ease
Refine our messaging to reach more people, accurately communicate, and address safety and accountability challenges
Co-create a structure that includes and empowers all the voices in this greater coalition
Clarify our strategic roadmap for 2026 and beyond
Tap into our existing mycelial network of contacts (Bailey will create a shared google doc chart of social network web so we can hold each other accountable for communication with outside communities and potential partners)
Create, refine, and alter our existing initiative to narrow in on our goals, integrate feedback from the retreat, and address blind spots
Continue working alongside one another, following up on conversations, and creating spaces for us to reconvene and deepen in our work together
A special round of shout-outs and thank yous to:
Heath and Brandon, for your generous donation of time and skills in starting a video project on behalf of Washington's decrim efforts
Cam, for providing delicious and nourishing meals with local ingredients and such a fine attunement toward individual food sensitivities
Everyone who traveled long distances to join us
All for showing up in such an open and wholehearted way
And finally, you are all warmly invited to the summer gathering at Concrescence this coming weekend, which is a coming together of both local community and many psychedelic sub-communities. I've pasted the invite below for anyone who feels drawn to join - we'd love to see each of you again and continue building connections!
In gratitude,
Erin & the REACH Team”
